My First Trip to CLS

May 15th, 2018 Jack Black

In the afternoon of May 8th, I left Beijing for Saskatoon. The flight firstly took me to Calgary, and then my destination. Lichen, Junbang, Biqiong and I are going to spend the next two weeks at CLS for two successive beamtime shifts. We will be mainly using the REIXS (resonant elastic/inelastic X-ray scattering) endstation, beamline 10ID-2.

Here are some photos I took on the flight.

We live at Ogle Hall, which is the guest house for CLS visitors. The guest service coordinator here is a very friendly old lady (the name is Liz Chapman, I guess). Here is a photo of my room. room at Ogle Hall

While I was logging the experiments and taking notes the other day, it suddenly occurs to me that I can actually build a website to store all this stuff. Therefore, here we are.

This photo was taken on the second floor of CLS. The storage ring is underneath.
